Its lively and catchy melody is contrasted with the melancholic, offbeat tune of the second movement, 'The Freedom of the Leaf', which cherishes the joy found in even the simplest and briefest moments of freedom. A faster and more confident melody returns in the final movement, 'The Freedom of the Island', which celebrates the liberating effect of accepting ourselves just as we are.
